We Now Return To Our Regularly Scheduled Programming
Yesterday was Epiphany and now that the wisemen have once again deked out Herod and made it back home the holiday season is officially over. Devoid of any further excuse for wanton idleness Miss Mussel is finding it nearly impossible to avoid the inevitable return to the land of productive citizenry.
So, hello readers and a particularly warm welcome to those who have arrive courtesy of the CBC Radio 2 blog. It’s nice to have some fellow Canadians about the place. The Omniscient Mussel is now entering its sixth month and always, there are a zillion ideas floating around OM Headquarters. Whether any of these come to fruition remains to be seen. It seems appropriate in a resolution sort of way to list a few of the biggies here in order to have a record to which Miss Mussel can refer at this time next year in order to chart progress or lack thereof.
1) Newsletter. It was promised in October and again in November. At some point this year, it will materialize. Some of you have optimistically signed up already. Your enthusiasm has been noted and appreciated.
2) Theme weeks. Often it seems as if posts are made at random and as the mood strikes. This approach does have its merits but often it seems that issues are never fully explored. In the idea pool currently are Elitism, Orchestra Dress, Classic FM and its ilk, Conductors, and Program Notes. Each series would be five posts and explore a different aspect of the issue each day. Perhaps even guest bloggers are in order here. Your suggestions are most welcome.
3) Young Artist Friday. Adding audio is something Miss Mussel has been trying to do all weekend. She has had success but when the blog is viewed in Firefox, the layout is messed up. Considering that most readers are unlikely to give up using Firefox solely to keep reading this blog, it seems another solution is required. Once this technomess gets sorted, we’ll have one young artist featured on Friday with audio and links to their vitals. If you know of a young artist on the verge of a career that could do with some publicity, tell them to get in touch.
The holidays may be over, but it’s never too late for a toast.
Here’s to a great 2008, blogging and otherwise. Here, Here!
