Quiz #5: The Winner

This week’s winner is Richard Hiebert from Vancouver who has written in with the correct answer of Sonata No.2 for Solo BWV 1003.

Well done to you sir.

Update: Looks like Miss Mussel is going to have to fire her fact checker. The correct answer is Sonata No. 3 BWV. 1005 Have a listen to the whole sonata on the sidebar.

Richard wondered if the lutenist was Nigel North. In fact the player in question is this guy.

He’s called Eliot Fisk and it seems that he’s quite the bigwig at The New England Conservatory. The album the sound samples were taken from is this one.

It seems that this week’s quiz was a mite too easy for most readers. Miss Mussel thought that hearing the piece on another instrument would make guessing a bit tricky. It seems she has underestimated your abilities! This is a mistake she can assure you will not be made again. Well not on purpose at least.

  1. Hmmm… are you sure? I think it’s Sonata #3 for solo violin BWV 1005 instead… ;)
