Who Says Politics Are Boring?

Today’s Sydney Morning Herald (well yesterday’s technically since it is already tomorrow there) has a great story on shenanigans in the Australian Parliament.

In a nutshell, the Opposition party is annoyed that PM Kevin Rudd does not attend sessions on Fridays, instead choosing to do other things, like visit the electorate. How did they illustrate their outrage?

Simple. They brought a cardboard cutout of the PM. How brilliant is that? Of course, by brilliant Miss Mussel means infantile and completely inappropriate. But still funny….and therefore brilliant.

There’s a video available that shows how it all went down. The female speaker is trying to restore order but the whole thing is so ridiculous, it comes off as a teacher trying to corral a bunch of rowdy schoolboys. Which, when you think about it, probably isn’t too far off the mark.
