National Ballet of Canada: 2009/10 Season
Alternative Title: News From The City That Thinks It Is The Capital
The National Ballet of Canada has announced its 2009/10 season and there looks to be some crackers in the line-up.
There is also an extraordinary amount of Tchaikovsky. Usually, Miss Mussel considers that to be a fault in a program but, at the ballet all sins are forgiven. Soaring, repetitive melodies are yawneriffic in the concert hall but when paired with tutus and dance belts, they become the stairway to a higher plane. [yes, that would be heaven but this post is not about The Zepp]
Before the season kicks off in Toronto, the Company will be doing a 5 city tour of Western Canada featuring 13 performances of The Sleeping Beauty.
