Toronto Symphony 2009/2010 Season Highlights
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra announced its 2009/10 lineup on Tuesday. There is a reasonable amount of new music happening as part of the annual New Creations Festival but as far as balancing new rep out throughout the season, the programmers have come up a bit short this year.
Notable highlights include a visit by Miss Mussel’s favourite conductor, Gianandrea Noseda for a performance of Verdi’s Requiem as well as Thomas Dausgaard for a 3-day Sibelius Festival.
There’s also a horn concerto in January and our home-grown conducting superhero Yannick Nézet-Séguin is bringing his Rotterdam band home in February.
Here are the 11 concerts Miss Mussel is going to put in here diary. Download the full season brochure here.

Toronto is roughly 4 hours from Detroit, 5 from Cleveland and 2 from Buffalo by car. NYC is a fairly cheap plane ride away and with the current currency situation, everything is automatically 20% off. Plus, you get to USE MONOPOLY MONEY IN REAL LIFE. Now that is definitely worth the drive.
