- Opera Australia has ended its fiscal year on a high, posting a surplus of $848,000 AUS on the back of good management and brisk ticket sales. Things are hopping Down Under but not enough to interest Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Despite the Opera House being in need of internal renovations, the PM is ‘personally skeptical‘ regarding any of the federal governments’ cash being used for the project. Miss Mussel would like to go back on the record and say that the Opera House would still make a really great IKEA. A destination IKEA at thatl.
- MagCloud.com in the NYTimes — a brilliant idea.
- Elton John is creating a ballet. In Alberta of all places. If you’re not familiar with Canadian provincial identity politics, Alberta is like Texas. Oil, cowboys and Republicans only north of the 49th, we call the Conservatives. Both places have a roses as their emblem. “The “semi-abstract ballet set to the music of Sir Elton John,” the performance will debut in Calgary on May 6, 2010 before moving to Edmonton on May 11″
- Canadians are champs at Youtube. This should come as no surprise since we are indisputably champs at life. Also winters here are very long and cold.
