#Operaplot v3.0

Hello #operaplotters! Just when you thought you were finally going to get some work done Round 3 makes an appearance. Since she is busy flitting about London on a busman’s holiday, this time round, Miss Mussel is working in conjunction with the CBC Radio 2 program Saturday Afternoon At The Opera.

The premise is the same – summarize the plot of an opera in 140 characters or less – but the scope is much narrower. Instead of any opera, you must create an #operaplot about Un ballo in maschera and submit it on Twitter before noon EST on Tuesday August 4th. Full rules are here.

Next Saturday, during the interval of Un ballo in maschera, Miss Mussel will announce the winner on the radio and solicit further entries for the next round.

So what’s the prize this time? A package of six DVD’s from the Metropolitan Opera 2008 series including Macbeth, Hansel and Gretel, Manon Lescaut, Peter Grimes, The First Emperor and La Boheme.

The best news: you don’t have to be a Canadian citizen or resident to win, so you can enter no matter where you live.

Miss Mussel will have further details on The OM, or you can keep up to date at the SATO blog. If you want to hear the information straight from the source and aren’t able to pick up the CBC on the radio, you can listen online. There aren’t any geographical restrictions like there are for some television sites although you do have to listen live. Unlike the BBC, there is no archive feature.

Best of luck, all. Miss Mussel is looking forward to reading your tweets!

PS: For those new to Twitter – here’s a short guide on how to follow #operaplot most easily as well as a few tips on how to get the most out of Twitter.
