Sometimes when you meet genius, the only decent thing to do is acknowledge you have been beaten and point the way to greatness. In this clip, the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre discusses the carol sung by wide-eyed moppet choirs everywhere: Away in a Manger. Rather than digress into some boring history lesson, the puppets instead dive full on into the question we were all wondering about but were afraid to ask:
“Was Jesus a gangsta rapper? What did he do when he was finished in his crib? Pimp his donkey?”
The Puppets have returned to the carol again this year and not wanting to get stuck in a gangsta rut, have created a new, urban middle class version.
