It’s that time of year again, apparently. After a one-year hiatus, the ASCAP Deems Taylor Competition for books and articles on the subject of music is back.
Submissions of books and articles issued in 2009 are being accepted now until 31st July 2010.
The press release says the award recognizes books, articles, broadcasts and websites but then doesn’t give any guidelines for websites. Is it just an article published in an online mag or the website in and of itself?
It doesn’t much matter since Miss Mussel is ineligible either way.
1) she hasn’t written a book or article about music published in the United States
2) she lives in Canada, so even if blogs were allowed, The OM does not originate in the United States
Looks like there is a price to be paid for universal healthcare after all.
Information on eligibility and the application procedure is available on the ASCAP site.
Several categories of cash prizes ranging from $250 to $1000 are presented to writers of award-winning books and newspaper, journal or magazine articles (includes program, liner notes and on-line publications).
Awards are also presented to the authors and journalists as well as to their respective publishers.
